Tracy McGrady debut for the Knicks

Tracy McGrady’s debut in New York was a dazzler. Many were pessimistic of MacGrady and his ability to perform, mainly because of his constant injuries. McGrady managed an impressive 26 points. That’s not too shabby considering he hasn’t played a full game in almost two years. McGrady was absent from the court during overtime however, mainly due to exhaustion.

McGrady’s performance was no match for Durant’s performance. Kevin Durant scored 36 points for the Oklahoma City Thunder. In addition, he hit the tying 3 pointer at the end of regulation with a sense of confidence that would make Michael Jordan and Lebron James proud.

This match was not simply a competition between two heavyweights. The supporting cast of both teams came out in full swing. Russel Westbrook of the Thunder scored 31 points, had ten assists, and nine rebounds. Jeff Green, also of the Thunder, had 16 points and 11 rebounds. David Lee and Eddie House of the New York Knicks both put on an impressive performance. David Lee scored 30 points with ten rebounds and newly acquired Eddie House put up 24 points. McGrady’s debut performance, while impressive, still is no clear indicator of his future performance. IF he can remain healthy he might be a valuable asset to the Knicks. Personally, I doubt that the acquisition of Tracy McGrady will be enough to bring a championship ring to New York any time soon.
